Reports To: Project Manager
Job Purpose
The Architect will be responsible for designing and supervising the construction of residential and commercial real estate projects. The role involves creating functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing architectural designs that align with client needs, company goals, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Concept Development
- Develop architectural concepts and detailed designs for real estate projects.
- Prepare drawings, plans, and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
- Ensure designs comply with building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations.
Project Planning & Coordination
- Collaborate with engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare BOQs and material specifications for architectural works.
- Coordinate design changes during construction to ensure compliance with original plans.
Site Supervision & Quality Assurance
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and adherence to design specifications.
- Identify and resolve design-related issues promptly during the construction phase.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control measures.
Client Engagement & Presentation
- Meet with clients to understand their requirements and present design proposals.
- Prepare visual presentations, mood boards, and 3D renders for client approvals.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare architectural reports, approvals, and as-built drawings.
- Maintain accurate project documentation for all design and construction stages.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely completion of architectural designs and project drawings.
- Compliance with project budgets and timelines.
- Accuracy and quality of design documentation.
- Client satisfaction ratings on design and functionality.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in architectural design and supervision of real estate projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, or other design software.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and local regulations.
- Soft Skills:
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Certifications: ARCON (Architects Registration Council of Nigeria) registration preferred.
